Warner Baxter
Warner Baxter is so great in this movie. I really hope Marsh doesn't die at the end, he's such a sympathetic character.
I'm kind of sorry he wound up in stuff like "Crime Doctor", and died relatively young.
Really fine actor.
Best dramatic performance in a musical ever. Period. It's a terrific movie top-to-bottom, but Baxter is the glue that holds it together. His intensity, his desperation... he's dynamite in it.
