Narrated stage directions

This film is playing on TCM right now with a narrator giving stage directions in a voice over as the film plays. I assume this is a special annotated version? Perhaps for the visually impaired?

The thing is, Bob, it's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care.

Hard to believe TCM would make an error like this.

Yea, I'm watching this right now and yea, this is a version for the blind. Crazy that they'd make this mistake. Of course, they probably have no idea of this major flub as it's broadcasting. I'd imagine Ben Mankiewicz filmed the intro for this days ago.

It's called DVS. You enable it using the SAP feature on your TV. It's not supposed to play on the primary audio tracks. I'm glad others posted here. Wasn't sure if it was my cable service doing it or not.

Just saw (and heard) this stage directed version also. Never experienced this before. Originally thought this was due to a setting error on new cable box I just installed. Glad to see others experienced this, too, indicating my cable box is okay. Missed the Mankiewicz intro and thought he might mention narration at end, but he didn't. A mystery how this version of the film was aired.

It was so annoying I couldn't watch.
