Apolinaris and his bicarbonate of soda

Random observation here... I thought it was funny how there was a character in this movie named Apolinaris who was complaining of indigestion, and so they were offering him bicarbonate of soda. Nowadays you can buy this bottled mineral water from Germany called Apollinaris, which, due to its natural effervescence, acts somewhat like drinking bicarbonate of soda (alka seltzer). You drink a glass of it and usually this is followed by a stomach-clearing belch.

Couldn't help but notice the similarity in names.

"A little old lady got mutilated late last night... Werewolves of London again."

I don't think it's a coincidence. Apollinaris was an effervescent mineral water reputed to have therapeutic properties. First marketed in 1852, it is still around and is sold by Coca Cola.

I notice that bicarbonate of soda is mentioned alot in 1930s films. It was the big thing that eased stomach upset and indigestion back then before Pepto bismo, Imodium ad, and Omeprazole came out.
