Not in my opinion. The plot wouldn't hold up today. Two friends fighting for the same girl and remaining friends. We seem to need controversy these days.

Sure, many of us would buy a ticket just to see the wing walkers!

They would have to change it so much. I found the plot to be kind of boring. They would need to spice it up a bit. The singing and dancing would have to be radically different too to draw an audience.

Also the theory of black men being savages is outdated.
