Great movie!

I LOVE this pre-code movie with believable people and great dialog. I wish more people knew about it.
Not having a left-hand side link to the message board isn't gonna help anyone get acquainted! What's up with that?
I guess not enough people posting. Bummer- this is a very good flick- especially considering it was made in 1933.

Yes! I just watched it on TCM and enjoyed it very much. I loved the sets and the fashions, too! Worth watching Bette Davis, of course.

Today was one of those days where your DVR records TCM all day!
When I saw it was Bette Davis day, I recorded EVERYthing today... Bette is just that FABulous!

I've always enjoyed this movie - brief, but very memorable and SO ahead of its time! (Like Bette was!)

I've never seen it, but if Bette was the "wicked stepmother" then I'm sure she took a delicious turn in it!
I have a well developed sense of humor so I'd probably liked it. I will keep an eye out for that one - thanks for the recommendation!

WOW! I've rarely seen a movie on imdb with such a low rating, LOL!
I will check it out this weekend, thanks for the recommendation! :)

Thanks! I have seen "Driving Miss Daisy" and enjoyed it very much!

I never go by ratings... there are plenty of new movies that don't deserve to be in the top #125 but they get a lot of votes.

I like the corniness of the movie "She-Devil" but I'm sure it has a low rating.

I haven't seen the Jessica Tandy movie "Camilia" but will add it to my list.

May I suggest a foreign movie? "Das Leben der Anderen" (The Lives of Others) which did win the Best Foreign Pic Oscar and has one of the BEST endings ever!

Ciao!

Wicked Stepmother is one of my Bette Davis favorites. I think it is little-seen by most, but it was amazing, at her age & condition, she was Fantastic in it! According to Wikipedia: "Her last performance was the title role in Larry Cohen's Wicked Stepmother (1989). By this time her health was failing, and after disagreements with Cohen she walked off the set. The script was rewritten to place more emphasis on Barbara Carrera's character, and the reworked version was released after Davis's death."

It is a funny film, though...
