I must have watched this film one hundred times over the years. But only yesterday, I noticed an obvious goof. The great reception introducing Firefly as the new leader took place at night. Firefly appears just after ten. At the end of the celebratory gala, Mrs. Teasdale reminds him that he has an appointment at the House of Representatives. Firefly calls for his car. Pinky rides in on the motorcycle with sidecar in broad daylight.

It's night? I always figured it was at ten am.
shareYou see? I believe that it was night since they were wearing formal evening dress (white tie with black pants). If you check out the afternoon tea party, you'll notice the guests that are wearing formal day dress are wearing either gray or striped pants with either long ties or black bow ties. It's a faux par either way.
I would say it's probably just an error in how they're dressed, as there's no shot outside showing that it's night.
