Miriam Hopkins is terrific

Just watched this on YouTube. Enjoyable little film. Love all the actors but Miriam Hopkins impressed me the most. She was so full of energy.

She definitely lit up the screen in Dr. Jekyll which had a very sexy scene with her. She also co-starred with March again in 1934's All of Me, which I found to be a rather trite little drama, but at least it has George Raft in it.

Yes, agree, Miss Hopkins definitely proves herself one of history's finest actresses with her each and every outstanding performance.

Here, she repeatedly shines brightly amid an all-star cast, including the likes of mega-stars Fredric March, Gary Cooper, Edward Everett Horton, Franklin Pangborn, Isabel Jewell and Jane Darwell!

Design for Living was worth the wait for television and one day Youtube for everyone if they could manage to work the bugs out of that application after years of trying. One fine day we all ought to hope to see this masterpiece again.

The most recent "Sight and Sound" devoted an entire article to her. Worth reading. And yes, she is, as always, teriffic.

She was the best thing about Design For Living, a rare disappointing Lubitsch film for me.

Miriam in her collaborations with Lubitsch was simply superb, most especially in Trouble in Paradise.

I fully agree: she was truly wonderful in it (as well as in anything else!), and the only reason I would watch this movie again. Without any doubt, a magnificent actress whose leading roles and stardom should have lasted much longer.
