loved it!

It was a really inspiring movie! Her attidude is so like "I'm gonna be a dancer, no matter what!". It kinda reminds me of the real Joan Crawford, always up for a challenge and never quitting!

In a few scenes, Joan tried to play vulnerable and defenseless in the movie, but it didn't work. Her hungry, ambitious nature still came through. That way she's the diva we love.

This is one of my favourite Joan movies. It is so inspirational, like Beesting said. It makes me want to run off to Hollywood for a shot at the big time, but of course that's not the way it works anymore!

I love the soundtrack to this movie as well. Especially the song "Everything I Have Is Yours" that is played during the party scene.

Such a GREAT film. I adore Joan and Clark in this, so hot - both of them!

I think it's great that Crawford is so hard as nails in this, and the rapport she and Gable have is undeniable. Not to mention, of course, that she met her second husband, Franchot Tone, while making this movie. Tto be honest, in spite of the talent that went into this, it's really a rather poor imitation of 42nd Street and Gold Diggers of 1933. It has some marvelous moments, especially the sequence featuring Crawford and Fred Astaire, but it's really warmed over Busby Berkeley.

I can't say I loved it or was inspired by it, but it's got a genuine presentation of Crawford's determination to succeed.
