Cavalcade Quote

If you search on the web for ' "There should never be any good reason for neglecting someone that you love." and Cavalcade', you'll find at least 25 different websites that attribute this quote to Jane Marryot in the 1933 movie Cavalcade, including the single, lone quote listed for this movie in the IMDb database.

But I watched the movie last night from a recent TCM telecasts, and nowhere do I recall Jane, or anybody else for that matter, saying that line. I even scrolled the movie two more times watching the scenes with Jane, but darned if I could find this line anywhere in the movie. The closest is that Jane says "Time changes many things, but it can't change old friends, can it?" to Mrs. Bridges right before Alfred comes home intoxicated. But although that's the same sentiment, that's not even really close.

I find it hard to believe all the websites have the exact same wrong quote listed, so I kept watching and re-watching but never found the quote being said.. Did I miss something, when did Jane say this line? Or is it possible that maybe there is an another version of the movie with this line included?

I don't remember the line either.

I wonder if this particular line came from the PLAY. I'll check out both, and see what's what.

I do hope he won't upset Henry...

The quote isn't in the movie (which I just watched for a second time), and it isn't in the play (which I just read).

It's a mystery how this mistake could have occurred.

I just watched the film and while browsing the quotes section I came across that quote and I thought I had missed part of the film with that quote. I'm glad that I'm not the only one who noticed.
