What did Bosko say?

I saw this highlighted on a TCM pre-Code special, and can't believe what I thought I heard Bosko say!

I know, under "memorable quotes" it lists Bosko's comment as "That dirty fox," but it sure doesn't sound like that!

What do others think?

I can't really tell to be honest. It sounds more like he says "That Dirty Faulk!" but it doesn't sound like he says fox because he clearly makes a 'K' sound.

Sounds like the F-bomb to me, but I can't imagine they'd put it in, and leave it in back in the early 30s.

quality of sound is horrible ever on good tape, and how idiotic people can be if they think that word *beep* can be said in 1930 cartoon. lol

I finally saw that TCM special yesterday. I ran that scene five times. He is not saying "fox." Can't imagine the censors overlooking such a thing, but the evidence is there.
May I bone your kipper, Mademoiselle?

all these Myths... girst f-word song was recorded in 1935 (lucille bogan - shave 'em dry) and its completely anderground record. Do you imagine that tv cartoon (cartoons is for kids) can said *beep* on tv back then? well then sex pistols recorded first album in 1935

This was not a TV cartoon for kids! This was made in 1933, TV didn't even start to become popular for another 15 years. These cartoons were made to accompany feature films in theaters and were enjoyed by both children and adults.
ALSO, in 1933 there was no strict censorship in movies -- that came the next year. There are 2 rather muffled uses of the F word in Scarface from 1932 (see the similar thread on that board...)

Here is a link to a very clear copy of Bosko http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2e9saj_bosko-s-picture-show-1933_shortfilms
skip to about the 5:50 mark -- it's about as clear to me as it can be. Sounds nothing like "fox."

He cursed in the cartoon. I want to see it.
