This Movie's Most Famous Line

And Franchot Tone's romantic delivery is flawless: "I'd love to run barefoot through your hair."

Not the most famous, but it's one of the funniest lines, I think....uttered by an off-camera Space Hanlon, who is sticking his head thru Lola Burns' dressing room window, and in response to Lola's comment "Did I insult Alice Cole when she had you making calve's eyes at her? Why don't you take HER with you tonight?"

Hanlon's disembodied reply: "Alice Cole is now a respectable married woman, and she hates my insides."

So many great lines in this one...they just keep coming at you!

I love when Lola says, "ALRIGHT, IF THAT'S THE WAY YA FEEL ABOUT IT, YA PATENT LEATHER PEANUT BENDER!" Many great lines in this film!

"... patent leather peanut vendor", as in someone who sells peanuts.
(Peanuts are not really bendable, last I checked.)

My favorite was early in the movie, when the secretary scolds the maid, and she responds: "Don't scald me with your steam, I knows where the bodies buried."
