was played by such a lovely, charismatic young woman, I had to look her up. She was Mildred Washington, someone you should know about. Sadly, she died the same year "Bed Of Roses" debuted. Here's her imdb page:

Her parents were Millard and Lillie King Washington who were from Houston, Texas. She had a brother named Ross, and a sister named Flora Dora Washington who were both in the entertainment business too. Washington also had a daughter named Lillie born in 1923. Her sister, Flora, died in 1992 in California. She is the only one that I could find any information on after 1940.
