Confused over key detail

When the locket is found under the pillow, the brother Bob identified it as belonging to his sister.

I couldn't see the monogram, but her initials would have been AH, or DH depending on if it was engraved using her given name or nickname.

It was really the other woman's locket, Corrine's, and her initials would have been CW, not remotely to be confused with AH or DH.

So why on earth did the brother think it was his sister's locket? Was I mistaken that the design looked like a monogram? I couldn't see it clearly and only assumed it was letters. But what other detail could have been on the locket that would make the brother believe it belonged to his sister?

I'm watching it now. The only details on the locket were tiny flowers in a half oval design on the front and what looked like the Hamilton family crest with a capital letter H on the back. I didn't see any first name initials anywhere. The brother probably recognized the Hamilton crest and thinking the worst of Dell already, assumed it was hers.
