DVD release?

Does anyone know of plans for a DVD release of this?

I don't get TCM, but would very much like to see this film. Does TCM perhaps have a policy of releasing the films they show on DVD?

reply

TCM doesn't release DVDS but since they are owned by Time/Warner as is Warner Bros/MGM they are often used as a tie-in for many DVD releases but this one wouldn't qualify since it's a Columbia film and is owned by Sony. Let's hope Sony gets this one out on DVD - after all they did release the first Jean Harlow DVD, PLATINUM BLONDE, her only other Columbia film.

I'm hoping the great success WB/MGM and Universal has had with their precode boxed sets will get Columbia/Sony to consider one and THREE WISE GIRLS would be a likely title in the collection.

I hope so, too. I only recently found out that Mae Clarke is in this one as well, making me more anxious than ever to see it.

If nothing else, the WB and Universal are now doing MOD (Manufacture on Demand) DVD-Rs, so maybe this title will make the cut for that. I'd rather see it in a boxed set, myself, but with the economy still in the dumper the studios might be cutting back on new releases. [shrugs]

Sony (which owns THREE WISE GIRLS) has just joined the made on demand bandwagon and on their website they are even open to emails requesting titles that you'd like to see released! Why not drop them a line?
