Fully uncut version?

This may just be a random thought, but:
Even though the 50s dupe negative and a worn and grainy print were used for this movie's restoration, does anyone think there should be a new restoration that takes the missing 3 minutes from the original negative- even if it's heavily damaged? or do you think it's possible that the negative is still too damaged?

Plus I have to ask- the archives where the negative is being held will save it even if it's in bad condition?
