Movie Quality

Many older films which have slipped into the public domain are released on DVD by companies which only have access to bad copies of copies or even just awful ancient TV tapes with barely viewable image qualities.

Many films from the 30s were lost, damaged, not preserved. They were often stored in improper conditions and poorly. There are films from that time period that have blank screens or a still in them because of missing film.
