This has come out on home video from several companies; does anyone have any idea which print was in the best shape?
Also: Republic owns the rights to this, correct? Any idea when they may release the print so someone can restore it and put a top-quality edition out?
I have it on DVD, purchased from E-Bay, I think the seller transferred it from video tapes, the quality is quite good though.

I have a dvd of it I got on ebay in a dvd lot. But it says it is 185 minutes and it says here that the run time is 218 minutes like my vhs tapes of it are. I haven't watched the dvd. It looks nice but likely is a bootleg. (2005 MIRACLE PICTURES DIVISION OF PMC CORP. DE.)
shareI know this is a "late" reply (almost 4 years) but I have this serial on a multi movie DVD set, Great American Western, The: John Wayne, The Great American Legend (3 DVDs, 15 movies, over 16 hrs.) that I bought for under $4.00 from a Bi-Mart store. It was published 2004 by Echo Bridge Home Entertainment. It lists the "movie" as 186 minutes, too. I have not watched it so cannot comment on the quality. I can't think that the intros, etc. could add up to 30+ minutes more to equal 218 minutes.
