How does this picture end?

I was watching it on TCM when my cable went out.
When it finally came back the next movie had already started.

***SPOILERS***

The Hawk's identity had already been revealed. John had gone to his hideout to rescue the girl and they were in a fist fight with the villian's men trying to get in the door.....THAT'S WHERE IT CUT OFF.

It ended happily :)

The towns-folks posse arrived in time to save our hero and round up the Hawk & his gang. John Wayne got the girl (fade to 'The End' just before their lips locked). Oh and the mad ole Judge's horse-mule-thing continued to refuse to be moved....

oh, I almost forgot, Duke the horse tramples the Hawk to death - nice.
