Winnie Lightner

I just wanted to respond to reviewer Michael_Elliott (2008) in the most respectful way that Winnie Lightner is actually a woman, and was a popular comic actress in films of the late 1920s to mid 1930s. In Play Girl she plays Loretta Young's sidekick / friend Georgine. The lead actor who plays Young's gambler husband is actually Norman Foster, who later switched careers from film acting to directing.

One reason I enjoy movies of the early 1930's is watching the actors who, for whatever reason, disappeared from Hollywood later on. Winnie Lightner was a delightful comedic actor, and I wish Warner's had done a better job at selecting the films she would appear in. No wonder she left Warner Bros. Here's a good bio, although I think you already know about her:

Winnie was a great comedic actress, and she had the best part in Play Girl. She was also married before and had a year old son on the 1930 Census in Beverly Hills, California. She was raised by her aunt and uncle, but I can't find her parents. She was a year old on the 1900 Census, and she was already living with the Hansens.
