This is one of the greatest romantic films (tear jerkers) of all time. and to me it stands out from other (romantic) films because of it's longing haunting quality. its just a beautiful movie and i for one cannot watch it too many times because whenever i do i start crying. its just that good. and in my opinion its better than ANY romantic film ever made and i've seen a whole bunch of them.

What makes this movie even sadder is the real life drama of William Powell. Only 6 years after this film, he had to go through the real life loss of Jean Harlow, and later on his son.
Much more to this movie than meets the eye. A true gem.
Absolutely love Kay Francis in this as well. When she smiles, I can't halp but smile too. It's infectious. Sadly, she's one of Hollywoods lost treasures.
I came to Casablanca for the waters.....
