When Morgan let Saul out he set part of the house on fire. Pembleton tried to put it out but they started fighting and fell off the landing. Next thing you know everyone makes it out of their locked rooms or doors and the part of the house on fire was no longer burning! (lol)

Yes noted that :) and a few other things that seemed odd (outside the Dark House's family of course). It would seem I 'didn't get' this movie.

After the movie on TCM Robert Osborne said that the 102 year old man was played by a woman. I thought "When did we get our first clue?" LOL

Nice old horror movie. I thought it started very well then tended to be a little bit ridiculous later on. Maybe it aged badly, I wonder how I would have found it back in 1932 :-) Nice sets however.
