why does it say its a comedy?

" Look, there's two women fuc*ing a polar bear!"

Because it has a very macabre and twisted sense of humor, perhaps?

Especially considering that director James Whale was known for mixing elements of horror with elements of comedy. He started as a comedy/musical director and was eventually ushered into horror by studio suits.

I don't know if you're aware of this but I've already changed things. I killed Ben Linus.

It was not a comedy. It had occasionally humorous lines and odd characters. Some people don't understand movie genres or older movies.

I just made a correction for IMDb to delete that. It is not a "comedy" by any stretch of the imagination. Just because it has some slight humor at moments doesn't make it a comedy, and Universal very much marketed this film as a horror movie, which is what it is.

Agreed. Its not gut busting side splitting humor but rather slight chuckles and smiles.
