Forboding Coincidence

There is a scene in the movie where Babe is looking at a flip-type calendar. The date Saturday December 7th is shown, with the notation "conference tonight." Of course nine years later on that date (a Sunday) the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. As a result, America entered the war, leading to Carole Lombard's participation in promoting war bonds. During one such trip, she of course died in an airplane crash.
