Piano through the window

Question; When they get to the top of the stairs Ollie says to hoist the piano through the upstairs window and carry it down the stairs to the living room, why not just climb through the window, go down the stairs and open the door?
Answer; That wouldn't be funny, would it? and look at all the laughs that would be lost.
