Who played Dr Muller's assistant?

Hey, I was wondering if anyone knew who played Dr Muller's assistant in The Mummy? (The guy who went mad when he saw Imhotep walk out of the coffin at the start)

The guy reminds me of Dwight Frye (who played Renfield in Dracula and Fritz in Frankenstein) but Frye's credits don't show that he was in The Mummy.

Can someone help??

The character was Ralph Norton, and he was played by Bramwell Fletcher. I can understand thinking it was Dwight Frye though, as he always played the terrified lunatic!

Funny...until youse guys brought it up, I always thought it was an uncredited early role by Leslie Howard -the guy who played Ashley in Gone With The Wind!

I met and spent some time with Bramwell Fletcher many years ago when he was touring in a one-man show about George Bernard Shaw.(According to Fletcher, who had known Shaw, he was the only actor approved by Shaw's estate to play him). Anyway, I found Fletcher (and his wife, playwright Lael Tucker Wertenbaker)to be charming and interesting. He told me enjoyed his days in Hollywood and being part of the "British Colony" there. He was under contract to Sam Goldwyn and was also loaned out to other studios. He told some great stories about the people he met (William Randolph Hearst and Marion Davies at San Simeon, Ronald Colman, David Niven, etc.). A very nice man and a distinguished stage actor. But he will mostly be remembered as the assistant who goes mad in The Mummy.

Doesn't anyone check the cast lists on IMDB???

He was married to DRACULA's Helen Chandler, by the way, 1935-1940.
