Similar Movies?

I know this one was remade, apparently poorly. Who else knows some similar films?

I'll start:

The Island of Lost Souls - It's an HG Wells tale, remade at least twice. For me the Charles Laughton version was the best.

The Naked Prey - Exciting and touching, too.

The Hunt (2020). I love this film, and Crystal (played by Betty Gilpin) is my new all time favorite
female BAD ASS!

WTF is "touching" about Naked Prey? The friggin' dude getting clay baked?

I found the friendship between Cornell Wilde and the little native child who rescues him quite touching.

Yes.

In my mind I call the kid "Buckwheat" because I never could decide if it was a girl or boy.

SPOILER!

Yes, the child (boy?) and also at the end. the tacit mutual respect of the two adversaries as they salute one another. Wilde's character knew the white hunters were wrong and even tried to talk them out of busting the territorial agreement.

The clay bake, "chicken hunt," and other torturous killings bugged me for weeks. And now, I'm again reminded of them!

The Running Man (1987 ?)

Hard Target with Van Damme, dir. John Woo. Good action movie.

Run for the Sun is a loose 1950s remake. It incorporates escaped Nazi war criminals and a more developed romantic subplot. I actually enjoyed it quite a bit, but it's not as thrilling as this 1932 movie.

"Surviving the Game."

Ice-T as a homeless vet is hired by some rich guys to "guide" their hunting party....and then finds out HE is the prey.

Good cast of hunters (all evil as hell) -- F. Murray Abraham(a Best Actor Oscar winner!), Gary Busey(crazy as usual), Rutger Hauer(pretty much the Psycho Leader of Psychos), and Charles S. Dutton as the black member of the team of psychotics -- luring Ice-T into the game and betraying him rather in the manner that Samuel L. Jackson betrays his fellow blacks in Django Unchained.

OK... sounds good!
