Brlliant jewel of a movie

The one true 'Merton of the Movies,' with a brilliant cast and wonderful performances by Irwin and Blondell. I've never seen Stuart Irwin in a finer, wider-ranging roll. What a great film. Adapted from the George S.mKauffman/Moss Hart play, 'Merton of the movies.' So glad I saw it. So much better than the hammy Red Skelton remake.

I didn't know this was remade. I'm glad I saw this version. I'm not a fan of Red Skelton but I love Joan Blondell. This was a sad movie. I felt for him Gill and thought Irwin that a great job playing him.

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]

Just wanted to chip in my two cents and say Erwin's so sincere performace was great, and Blondell was super, too. Agreed, much better than the remake. This little gem of a film needs more exposure.
