Silly movie, fun music.

I landed on Love Me Tonight just in time to see a musical number called The Son of a Gun is Nothing but a Tailor--it was great! The music was lively and snappy and the lyrics were really clever. I especially liked "down upon my hands and kneeses/washing out his BVDses/is a job that hardly pleases me."

I was also shocked to see Myrna Loy in such a relatively light movie.

What would you call the Thin Man series, then, or many of the other comedies she did in the late '30s? I dare say the majority of the films Myrna Loy made were light.

For me, it's shocking to see her in what is clearly a supporting role. The Thin Man would change all that.

I definitely recommend going back and watching the whole film if you ever get a chance. It's great all around, but the opening sequence is especially stunning and innovative.
