The copyright to this movie expires in ten years. Any guesses as to what will happen? Who actually owns the rights to this now? TCM?

No idea. I think it's kinda dumb that the studio couldn't reach an agreement.

The greedy heirs probably wanted more the the studio could pay....happens all too often keeping books and movies out of the hands of the public

well luckily the film is on youtube or online.
