Groundbreaking for its time. Deserves to be in the Top 250

I agree! Great film!

I just gave it a 9. It's terrific and I need to watch Muni in Scarface pretty soon! An excellent actor, worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as such greats as Cagney and Robinson.

This film is as vivid as Fury,You Only Live Once or Little Caesar and has some of the same vigour as later classics like Brute Force. I thought this was an excellent early example of the social conscience picture, splendidly directed by Mervyn Le Roy.

Great initiative! It absolutely deserves to make it to the Top250 and it's easily only a question of getting more votes. A gem of the 30s, unbelievably powerful.

One of the best, if not THE BEST movie of the 30ies, awesome and what an ending (that they dared then ...!!). 10, definitly ! Should not rank in the TOP 250, but in the TOP 50, at least that´s where it is in my personal ranking !

MUNI was the best actor if his time, maybe the best ever, I can not remember any weak performance by him.
