greatest movie title ever?

I love it, who agrees and who has other great titles?

reply

I definately agree it is one of the best. I would also pick Dr. Strangelove: or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.

This is the LONGEST movie title ever (out of all the films I've ever seen).

I think it's awkward, but I love this film so I'll call it anything.

They could have at least left "I Am" out.

I'm here, Mr. Man, I can not tell no lie and I'll be right here 'till the day I die

how about:

"Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot"
"Cool Hand Luke" (the other chain gang movie)
"Planet of the Apes"
"Tootsie"
"The March of the Wooden Soldiers" (or is it "Babes in Toyland"?)
"Dirty Harry"
"The Cannonball Run"
"Caddyshack"
"Pulp Fiction"
"Better Off Dead"
"Kentucky Fried Movie"

I think all are pretty cool movie names.

It's definitely one of the best. I'd have agree with sixteen_dollars, Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb is also up there.

I love the long movie titles of yesteryear. Most movies these days have one or two word titles. Boring!

"He's already attracted to her. Time and monotony will do the rest."

Plan 9 from Outer Space ~ I think it's such a cool title for a silly pic that actually includes zingers at the military and the government.
The China Syndrome ~ Coincidentally, coverage of Three Mile Island did all of the explaining of this puzzling title.
Gray Lady Down ~ I always thought that was quite poetic for a submarine in trouble.
The Fearless Vampire Killers or: Pardon Me, But Your Teeth Are in My Neck
Can Heironymus Merkin Ever Forget Mercy Humppe and Find True Happiness?
You've Got to Walk It Like You Talk It Or You'll Lose the Beat
The Magic Garden of Stanley Sweetheart
Decline and Fall... of a Birdwatcher
Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?
The Purple Rose of Cairo
The Looking Glass War
Rat Pfink a Boo Boo
After the Fox

During my teen years in the Sixties, they particularly loved long movie titles.

"The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford"

I think Brad Pitt made them sign something about keeping the full name.

Funny, but I was wondering when I first started watching IAAFFACG if the name might have held it back any.

<edit>- Oh yeah, and "Who Is Harry Kellerman and Why Is He Saying Those Terrible Things About Me?"
