That is so misleading and it seems like it's a practice more common with older movies. She is a supporting player and a strong one, but she shouldn't have her name above the title. It's a trick to pull in viewers and it worked with me.
Yes, it fooled me too. Really, Junior Durkin should get top billing over Bette Davis and Pat O'Brien (wait ... isn't he the host of "The Insider" who left that notorious voice-mail?). But I guess this is typical of labeling films of that era, especially when few people would even see them now if not for the big names. And a happy 100th birthday to Bette!
It is indeed great to see Bette in such an early film! I wish I could see s a decent version of this film instead of all the cheapo public domain copies.
