Who plays the maid . . .

.. who dressed as 'Eve' and takes repprters' questions in the park?

That's Shirley Chambers, Hollywood's first Dumb Blonde. See Goofs for the movie.

"Shirley Chambers' onscreen character name is "Gladys," but she says her name is "Ella Beebee." She is never called Gladys."

For what it's worth I don't think it's really a goof, it's just the maid giving herself a fancy stage name.

I think Ella Beebee is really supposed to be "her name", remember a later scene when she is introduced to the press as the nudity advocate she slips and says that's her name but then corrects herself and says her stage name Eve so she's got three alleged names in this film.

I had never heard of Shirley Chambers before watching this picture, most of her other films are unbilled bit parts although I do remember her walk-on in 1937's NOTHING SACRED as "Lady Godiva" which ironically looks very much like
"Eve" with her long blonde locks (wig) covering what is supposed to be a nude body. Shirley just died only two years ago at age 97, sad she appears to have received absolutely no attention in the classic movie press/festivals in her later years when so few from the era were still around. IMDb says she is one of the gals at Belle's whorehouse in GONE WITH THE WIND but none of those bit players got much of a shot in that classic.
