Sorry, but it's just not that good

This film is a great example of people posting here, and rating, who have never seen the film. I defy anyone who has not seen it to last past the first 15 minutes. It's simply not a very good film. Period.

Is there any movie that you DO like, slapnuts?

No No No No! Not the wed one. Don't ever push the wed one!

OMG, this is one of the best movies ever. It has everything. A great director, an amazing cast, awesome sets, drama, humor, romance... But, well, if you do not like it, that's ok, but doesn't make it "not a very good film". It's just your opinion.

A very curious review. I "defy" ABetterDay to convince me that he or she is familiar with early 1930s cinema, because the review makes it fairly clear he/she is not. Uh..."period."

Wise man say man who judge film, half way through first act, is fvcking moron.

I HAVE BEEN DEFIED!!!!!!!

Geezz... what a moronic statement. You just didn't like it and leave it at that! This is an amazing film for it's day and for TO-day. Nothing moves me like Joan Crawford's scenes after the Baron has been murdered by Preysing.

If it's not to your taste, then whatever, move on. It is the first 15 minutes which HOOK ME in!

Er... maybe you want to use the "spoiler" tag for that statement about Crawford and such

Rome! By all means, Rome.

Well, it certainly woulda been a majorly sucky affair had the second half of the film been as awful as the first half. Luckily, it wasn´t. But nevertheless it´s hardly more than a mildly amusing piece of forgettable fluff. 6/10.

I watched the entire movie, liked Joan Crawford, the Brothers Barrymore and little else. If an actress gave the "performance" today, that Garbo gave here, she would probably be carted off to rehab and after reading Gloria Swanson's memories of first husband Wallace Beery (and then watching with horror what he does to another character, with little regret,) I will not be watching any more Wallace Beery movies. He didn't want to play an "amoral business tycoon" but apparently playing a murdererwas o.k. ???

I like to enjoy myself when I watch movies, even sad ones, but that scene ruined the movie for me and I would imagine many others.

I also felt sorry for the Baron's dog.
