Has some material been cut out of the picture?

This picture appeared on British t.v. in the mid-1980s and seemed to be just a little longer than a version which I saw on Youtube. The riding-on-the-beach scene involved close-ups and dialogue that wasn't evident in a more recent showing:has the running-time been cut for modern t.v.slots?

I also thought the horse riding on the beach part was a bit short - a couple overhead shots and one close-up of Stanwyck. No dialog or anything else. This was the recent showing on TCM. You would think that getting thrown from the horse and getting one's coccyx dislocated (per the Triva section) would merit more screen time for such an effort!

There was some dialogue between the two lovers as they rode on the beach as well as some distant shots of their riding away from the camera (Stanwyck didn't ride so doubles would have done most of the work).I had the impression that the riders had changed into riding-clothes for their moonlight ride but the surviving footage shows Stanwyck apparently just wearing a dress (=sore knees) as she gallops through the surf. Maybe the missing footage has gone for good now. Oddly, something similar seems to have happened to a riding-scene in a turgid Spencer Tracy film "Keeper Of The Flame" where early frames showing the two principal characters mounting their horses seem to have been clipped out of the video releases (mere seconds of running-time)!
