Best way to make a new version

Strictly follow the story format of the book,except begin the film with Jekyll writing his confession.The movie would then unfold from this with intermittant voice over narration.It would end with him in his lab,sealing his confession and placing it next to a jar of poison.His final narrative words would be,"as I place down my pen and prepare to seal this confession,I bring the unhappy life of Henry Jekyll to an end"...
