This short almost has a "peepshow" quality, what with the lady wrapping her legs all over Fields... Still, it is a great short. A Classic.

There is a very good reason why this movie has a "peepshow quality." Fields based it on a notorious stag movie of the day...which was played much the same only naked (yes people in the 1920's and '30's had naked bodies too, they just weren't seen as much). I have never seen the original, but I'm sure it is probably still around somewhere. I have, however, seen a few of the stag movies of that era and they were nothing short of nasty.

"Have you ever had this tooth pulled before?" I loved the dialogue. Maybe it was just the way the audio was recorded, but the punch lines seemed a lot more subtle than they are in modern comedies. If I hadn't been listening closely, a lot of them would have gone right over my head.
