..how about Eric Rohmer's facial hair? No wonder the man foreswore TV appearances for years.

It looks fake, doesn't it? Like you could at any moment grab it and pull, exposing Rohmer as the villain in a Charlie Chan mystery.

Haven't seen the special features, but he did make an appearance in Rivette's Out 1 back in 1971, and his facial hair looked pretty odd then. As mentioned above, it kind of looked fake (although perhaps too bad to be fake).

if anyone plays Rohmer in a film, it should be malkovich. Striking resemblance.
