Presented Her Potential

I watched A Bill Of Divorcement for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and I felt like I was meeting Katharine Hepburn for the first time. Its a shame her welcome was and still is downplayed, because she brought the whole of herself into Sydney Fairfield. We saw her play the romantic, the strong, the vulnerable, the courageous, the compassionate, and the protagonist for truth, all aspects of the humility she brought to her characters later in her career. Of course, she didn't really deliver until Morning Glory, but we saw a star born silently with this one.
