young sterling holloway

27 yr old Holloway in one of his first roles (was later the voice of Winnie the Pooh). This film has the feel of a much later production... clearer photography, better sound recording than most of the films of the time. and wow, does this film hold up well today, in light of events going on right now... /ksf-2

"You could have knocked me over with a pin!"

I also like, "See you in the breadline."

Great film that holds up well today.

Terrific performance by one of many memorable supporting players in this delightful film. It indeed still holds up almost 80 years later, though the bankers aren't nearly as ethical, and the "scandal" the buys silence wouldn't raise many eyebrows today.

reply

wouldn't raise many eyebrows today.

And, of course, no need to raise Gavin Gordon's eyebrows at all. They were already insanely raised and arched.

reply

Indeed they were! He looked eternally surprised.
