Gavin Gordon(Cluett) scary eyebrows!!!!

Have you ever seen a guy with eyebrows plucked like that?!?!?! I hate women that do it to that extreme. When guys do it they look even scarier!!!

I was about to post about that. When he first appeared in the movie, I thought he was supposed to be a flamboyantly gay character!

I think it was somewhat of a style but I agree it was TOO SCARY for me!

But then, he and Edward Everett Horton were lovers for years. Which might explain certain things...because his demeanor was a little poofy in some flashes here and there. But then on the other hand, most gay people aren't like that at all. I should know. I'm one of them.

I don't know anything about Mr. Gordon's private life, but it may have been that his own natural eyebrows were deemed too bushy or maybe they met above his nose. An all-powerful studio boss could have decreed that the makeup people fix his brows. I'd like to see a photo of the pre-movies Gordon to see what he looked like.

I don't like that look on men or women, but I can't say I care for the unibrow look either. Oh well, in the future none of us will have eyebrows.

You can see Gordon circa 1930 in Garbo's second talkie "Romance", and in 1937 in George O'Brien's Windjammer, in both he has normal eyebrows.

Thanks for the details. I shall seek out "Romance" and "Windjammer" for both the films and the eyebrows.
