What do you all think of that pool party that Warren William has up in his Deco-licious penthouse?

I absolutely LOVE the 1930's decadent atmosphere. The butlers...the beautiful penthouse, the pool...

...and what about that weird blow-up thing that the beautiful blond bobs up & down on with Warren William???

...and dontcha love the line where Warren William says, "Well, why don't you take off your clothes & stay awhile?"

All classic pre-Code fun!

I love how he apparently has keeps dozens of swimsuits on hand on visiting females LOL!!

All shapes, sizes, colors & styles! I thought that was funny too--and the butler didn't seem to think a thing about it either! Just business as usual!

...and how would you like to live in a swanky apartment on the floor BELOW a swimming pool?

And imagine how utterly badass it must have been 80 years ago to have electric doors that you open with the press of a button! People considered doors like that futuristic when they saw them on Star Trek in the sixties.

I'm here, Mr. Man, I can not tell no lie and I'll be right here 'till the day I die

I'm sure it would have just blown away a poor girl like Margie. Such luxury and decadence!

You are so right. It must have blown her mind. It would blow me away now.

I like how when she arrived, she said, "I didn't know you were having a party." And he answered it wasn't a party. Like every day is just fun time with rich folk.

Always the officiant, never the bride. http://www.withthiskissitheewed.com

We were all familiar with electric doors by the 60s. What was futuristic about the Star Trek doors was how fast they were. (The secret, of course, is that they were worked by human beings, but at least one electric-door company, not knowing that, wrote the show begging to know how it was done.)

But electric doors were pretty hot stuff in 1931.

From what I've read it wasn't unusual for rich people to keep spare swimsuits on hand for the spontaneous pool party.
