It's interesting that at the beginning of the film the producers thank various governmental officials. The names of the governments are very telling, and they remind us that Imperialism flourished well into the 20th Century:
The Territory of Tanganyika
The Protectorate of Uganda
The Colony of Kenya
The Anglo-Egyptian Sudan
The Belgian Congo
They also thank four "White Hunters". How times have changed.
There is a book called "White Hunters" and if you read it, it explains in those times there were "black hunters" who were the natives who hunted to eat and live and "white hunters" who were men who earned their living by hunting and selling things like ivory. It is not a derogatory term. There are still white hunters but they are called "Professional Hunters" to be more PC.
shareYes, I know all that. That's why I pointed out that they still used the term "White Hunters" back then. As you said, they now use "professional hunters," but this implies incorrectly that there are no black professional hunters.
