I never knew this little "gem" existed! Reflection of the time period...love the quaint sayings and dialogue....

I agree. Just watched this, after having also just watched "Shopworn" with Stanwyck (have two more pre-code films to go, starring her). Ricardo Cortez was wonderful in his role.....I knew very little about him and, of course, erroneously believed him to be Latin...LOL

I concur, the racy, snappy, slang, dialogue of the pre code films are something to watch for!!

I thought Cortez was Latin too. He reminds me of a taller version of Peter Lorre though without the trademark voice of course.

Cortez was famous for getting shot and/or poisoned by leading ladies. The documentary Complicated Women has a montage of these scenes which is a hoot.
