DVD, vhs, something, anything ??

I've checked on most websites, and nothing comes up but used vhs copies for 60 dollars which is ridiculous.

I'd really like to see this film, but its never on TCM, and its obviously not released on dvd or anything. Maybe someone knows how to access it?

P.S. lets see how long it takes for someone to reply. A year, maybe two?

I bought the Kino vhs back when it came out...great film. I had a house fire last December and lost all the movies I had (as well as the house, but oh well...)
I emailed Kino sometime last fall and requested they reissue "The Struggle" and another Griffith masterpiece, "Isn't Life Wonderful", on dvd, but they wrote back saying they aren't going to. Recently I've emailed Criterion and Image asking the same thing. No response from either of them yet, but I'd suggest you do the same.
$60 for a vhs is pretty outrageous. EVENTUALLY someone will release "The Struggle" on dvd, but who knows when.

Well, there are tons of movies out there, that are still unreleased on dvd, and some that are even unavailable on vhs as well, such as "The Stuggle".

Yes, in this day in age, where every classic obscure film is getting the criterion treatment and special re-releases, one would hope something like the Struggle gets the special treatment as well.

Hi - Just checked Amazon, and it's part of a Kino Griffith box set and also available as double with Abraham Lincoln - both have a release date of 18th Nov.
I just watched The Dance of Life and was curious about Hal Skelly - this seems to be the only other film of his readily available...should be worth a watch.

I came here to announce the same thing...good work. And also Grapevine Video is
releasing Griffith's "Scarlet Days" on dvd as well.

reply

It's on Netflix streaming, as of this writing.
