The Incredible Newmans

Loved the music in the movie...it was Alfred Newman's first full film score, and he went on to win nine Academy Awards, more than any other composer in Oscar history.

His family includes (the following info is from Wikipedia):

His brother Lionel Newman, who scored three dozen films and several TV series, adapting and conducting scores for hundreds of other films.

His brother Emil Newman, who scored over 80 films.

His son David Newman, who has scored nearly 100 films, including Hoffa, Galaxy Quest, The Nutty Professor, The War of the Roses, and Ice Age.

His son Thomas Newman, who has scored over 75 films, including Finding Nemo, The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption, Fried Green Tomatoes, Road to Perdition, American Beauty, and WALL-E, and has received ten Academy Award nominations.

His daughter Maria Newman, who is an eminent musician and composer.

His nephew Randy Newman, who is a two-time Academy Award winner noted not only for his film work but also for a series of popular albums as a singer/songwriter.

His grandnephew Joey Newman, who has scored many TV series, films, and video games.

His granddaughter Jaclyn Newman Dorn, who is a music editor, and won a Golden Reel Award for "30 Days of Night: Dark Days", and got another nomination for "Burlesque".

Some of the score sounds like it was influenced by "Rhapsody in Blue."

"Don't call me 'honey', mac."

It also went on to appear in quite a few 20th Century-Fox noir films and was featured with full orchestration as the opening of How To Marry a Millionaire.
