I have seen this movie dozens and dozens of times. Today I caught part of it on TCM, and noticed what I thought were added lines!? Because I had seen it so many times before, I didn't DVR it. Possibly some of the cut dialogue footage has been found?

shareThanks, but I don't know what "per censor" means. One line that stood out to me was when the drunk Cagney is being helped to bed by Dorothy Gee, it blacks out and he says "But you're Paddy Ryans girl". I don't remember that line at all from previous viewings?!
shareI think "per censor" was mistyped. I think the poster meant "pre-censor" like before the censors edited the movie. My guess anyway

The cut footage has been put back in but is sourced from noticeably inferior elements.
