Actually a very good story that keeps the viewing guessing as to what will happen next.

And very good production values for the time and wonderful desert scenery, pity it wasn't in color (yes, I know... 1931).

Yes, the acting is painfully slow and wooden. But past that a surprisingly good little early talkie Western.

I thought it was good for its time. The only thing was they never explained how Hollbrock ends up with an adjacent ranch, since he was going further west when they parted. Also, wouldn't the kids have met in town? It was strange that the grown offspring were total strangers to each other...
