Just want to say that I think both Mary Astor and Joan Blondell give excellent, entirely believable, perfomances in this movie. Joan sure did a convincing job of playing soppy, sloppy drunk, didn't she?

Joan was a great performer,all the way to her campy role in Grease-the movie.

I loved watching them both but I couldn't help thinking MA sounded a little posh compared with the rest of the cast.
