unintentionally creepy image
About twenty minutes before the end, Ben Lyon/Mortie breaks the window of a kosher delicatessen. It's only a coincidence of course, but in 1931 that was maybe already common somewhere in Europe, with very different purpose. I was reminded of a scene in Horse Feathers (1932), where Harpo Marx throws dozens of books in a fireplace only to warm his hands. Again, burning books was a popular sport in Germany in the same years and, again, it was not intended to be a comedy over there.
